Bell Batteries Pty Ltd (‘Bell Batteries’) and Bell Resources Limited (‘Parent Company’) like many organisations, is the subject of false representations by unscrupulous individuals not associated with the company. The company continues to take steps to limit the impact on our customers, suppliers and shareholders. Some of the more common examples are noted below.

1. FRAUDULENT EMAILS

Fraudulent offers of employment have been emailed to job seekers by individuals, organizations, internet sites, or social media accounts claiming to represent Bell Batteries or the parent company. In some cases, job seekers have been asked to disclose personally identifiable information, or pay a processing or work permit fee (as much as several thousand dollars) before beginning their “new role”.

These fraudulent emails do not originate from Bell Batteries or the parent company. They are recruitment scams designed to extort money and/or personal information.

Bell Batteries or the parent company will never request funds, require the transfer of money, or seek advancement of fees at any stage of our recruitment process. This includes costs associated with immigration, attorney fees, airline fees, travel insurance or related expenses. Bell Batteries or the parent company will not initiate any immigration process until a verified offer of employment is extended to and accepted by the candidate.

2. IS YOUR JOB OFFER A SCAM

Several clues can help you determine if your job offer could be a scam:

• Are you being asked to pay processing fees, travel fees, immigration fees, or make a payment of any other kind? Bell Batteries or the parent company never seeks any funds from job applicants.
• Even when Bell Batteries or the parent company has engaged a staffing agency to help identify candidates for positions, these third parties will never request funds from job seekers on behalf of Bell Batteries or the parent company.
• Does the email come from a @bellbatteries.com email address? Even if the email address contains the word “Bell Batteries”, it still may not be from Bell Batteries or the parent company.

3. HOW TO SAFEGUARD YOURSELF

• Do not send any money or provide any personal information to an offer of employment by Bell Batteries or the parent company.
• Report any email communication requesting payment of any kind to your local law enforcement.
• Research additional information available to you.
